The treatment
What is electrolysis?
A fine probe is placed in the natural opening of a hair follicle. A controlled current treats the follicle, and the hair is gently removed. Each hair is treated individually.
Precise by design
Individual follicles are treated, including small or detailed areas.
Not limited by pigment
Electrolysis is an option for all hair colors and skin tones.
Treated follicles can be permanently disabled. Hair grows in cycles, so multiple appointments are usually needed; hormones may also cause new hairs to develop later.
Before your visit
A little preparation helps.
Come with clean skin, without makeup, oils, or heavy products on the treatment area. Avoid tweezing and waxing beforehand, and let the hair grow long enough to be grasped.
After your visit
Give your skin some care.
Temporary redness, warmth, or mild swelling can happen. Follow Rue's specific aftercare guidance and avoid picking, excess heat, or irritating products on the treated area.

Electrolysis can permanently remove treated hairs associated with PCOS or other hormonal changes. New follicles can become active over time, so the number and timing of visits vary from person to person.
